Clients avoiding Middle East connections

The conflict in the Middle East this year impacted the inbound tourism sector, which led to widespread operational disruptions around airspace and routing into Africa. 

As more airlines restore services, nearly three quarters of Tourism Update readers (73%) said their clients are choosing to avoid flying through the Middle East to get to Africa. While 17% were unsure, only 10% said their clients are still choosing connecting flights via the Middle East to get to Africa.
