German airline launches direct flights between Munich and Mauritius

Eurowings expands its long-haul flights with direct flights between Munich and Mauritius.

Eurowings, a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, recently launched direct flights between Munich and Mauritius, with the first flight taking off on April 22.

The route is serviced by a long-haul Airbus 330.

In 2017, an estimated 120 000 Germans visited Mauritius, due to the destination’s various offerings, said Eurowings in a statement. In May 2016 Eurowings started operating the Cologne-Mauritius route and has since decided to enlarge its long-haul portfolio via Munich.

As of July, Eurowings will increase the frequency from once to twice weekly.
