As part of its outreach programme and stakeholder engagement, the Kruger National Park (KNP) will have a stand at the Innibos Show in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga from June 28 to 30, from 09h00 to 20h00.
Taking part at the show is meant to afford existing and prospective clients an opportunity to have one on one interaction with KNP Staff members and discuss various tourism and conservation related issues.
“As KNP, we are happy to take part in the show as it is in the capital city of Mpumalanga Province and its major economic hub. The show also allows us to tap into the clientele from neighbouring countries such as Mozambique, while maintaining existing connection with our local stakeholders”, said KNP’s General Manager: Communications and Marketing, William Mabasa.
On a monthly basis, the Park visits malls and other public areas in order to touch base with clients in their respective area so that their queries can be resolved at that level. This is a practice that the park adopted many years ago as way of fostering relationship with its neighbouring communities. These face to face interactions also allow KNP staff members to collect information in relation to its clients’ needs; so as to ensure continuous feedback in terms of how South African National Parks (SANParks) is doing as an organisation.
“It is June school holidays at the moment and guests are sometimes left disappointed by not having secured desired accommodation or entry pre-booking during such peak periods. One of the issues to discuss with our staff is that of our bookings opening eleven months in advance and that available inventory is given on a first come first served basis,” concluded Mabasa.
