Legacy opens new Greater Kruger property

Legacy Group will open Elephant Point River Suites in the Greater Kruger area on May 15.

The new property is located within Elephant Point Private Reserve, approximately five kilometres from the Paul Kruger Gate, along the Sabie River. The reserve includes more than three kilometres of river frontage and maintains wildlife corridors allowing free movement of game.

The development builds on the existing Elephant Point Safari Villas and introduces a fully serviced, all-inclusive offering.

Accommodation comprises villa-style suites with open-plan interiors, private terraces, plunge pools and dedicated study areas. A 24-hour butler service is included.

The food and beverage offering has been developed under two-star Michelin Chef Conrad Gallagher through Food Concepts 360. Dining venues include SAN, focused on fire-led cooking and seasonal ingredients, and TILO, a cocktail lounge with a share-style menu.

Facilities include a spa, gym, yoga terrace, walking trails and padel and tennis courts.

Sustainability measures include solar-powered infrastructure, water management systems and the preservation of wildlife corridors. The development created more than 1 000 jobs during construction and will support another 300 permanent roles.

Guests will have access to activities including guided game drives, bush walks and nearby attractions such as the Panorama Route, Graskop Gorge and Hazyview.

“Elephant Point is another powerful expression of our belief in South Africa, its landscapes, its people and its extraordinary potential,” said Bart Dorrestein, Chairman of Legacy Group. “With this development, we are not only creating a world-class destination but also contributing to meaningful job creation, community upliftment and the preservation of one of our country’s most treasured natural environments.”
