Travellers on domestic airline LIFT may notice its crew sporting fresh new footwear, thanks to the airline’s partnership with Veldskoen Shoes.
Veldskoen Shoes is a fellow local brand that handcrafts each shoe in South Africa in a traditional way – hand-cut, sewn, and finished using a buttery soft full-grain leather.

“We love being able to delight our customers with the excellent offerings this country is capable of producing. But more than that, supporting local producers means supporting the local economy too,” said Jonathan Ayache, CEO of LIFT.
“This partnership means we are able to keep our crew looking stylish while bringing together two iconic South African brands,” Ayache added.
“It’s a real privilege to be able to dress LIFT’s crew in our shoes. This is a unique coming together of two businesses that celebrate and connect South Africans. Taking our shoes from the ground of our beautiful land to the skies above is incredibly exciting and we are so proud to be associated with SA’s most innovative airline,” said Nick Dreyer, CEO of Veldskoen Shoes.

Veldskoen Shoes had also been selected as the official off-field shoes for Team SA in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Ayache said travellers would see more creative partnerships in the future: “We’re always looking for ways to make our flights more enjoyable. Our partnership with Veldskoen Shoes is just one example of our innovations. LIFT fans can look forward to plenty more.”
