Mashatu’s leopards star in new documentary

A new documentary filmed in the Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana, following the fate of a leopard family impacted by climate change, will premiere on June 13.

Mashatu: Land of the Leopards was filmed over a period of three years in the 42 000 hectare reserve. Using technology such as drones and high-sensitivity, low-light cameras, the film claims to reveal never-seen-before behaviours of leopards.

Directed by Julien Naar with Wild Web Africa as cinematographers and field producers, the film is produced by ZED for France Télévisions, National Geographic and Switzerland’s Radio Télévision Suisse.

The premiere will mark the closing of the Wildscreen Festival Botswana in Maun from June 12-13. The festival will feature two African premieres, an industry pitch competition and a line-up of speakers representing the wildlife filmmaking industry.
