Monday smile: Zen-ning out with lemurs

Yoga in nature, with nature.

Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa in England’s Lake District is offering a new way to de-stress. Its new wellness package, Lemoga Spa Breaks, includes a spa treatment, overnight accommodation and yoga with the lemurs from the nearby wildlife park.

Richard Robinson, manager of the Lake District Wildlife Park, says lemurs do some form of the poses naturally. “It seemed to be a really good combination to encourage people to have a go and spend time with a lemur,” he says.

The Lemoga Spa Break experience starts at US$649 (about R9 156) for two people. Alternatively, visitors can buy an experience with animals, such as walking alpacas, meeting and feeding meerkats, grooming and feeding a tapir and encountering lemurs, for US$65.50 per person.
