New chapter for Madikwe lodge

The Balete Ba Lekgophung Development Trust has announced that Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge, in Madikwe Game Reserve, will be under new management from October 1.

The trust has appointed TMFL to operate the lodge through its management company, Nightjar Collection, a specialist in safari lodge management. Nightjar Collection oversees properties in the Greater Kruger and Pilanesberg, providing sales, marketing, reservations, operations and finance services with focus on community empowerment and conservation.

Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge will undergo an extensive refurbishment with a refreshed offering expected to be unveiled in early 2026.

“We, as TMFL and Nightjar Collection, are honoured to be taking over Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge. The property is wholly owned by the Balete Ba Lekgophung Development Trust, which fit rights into our ethos. As Nightjar Collection, our key focus is the alignment of communities and conservation so this property ticks all the boxes. We will be doing extensive refurbs of the property and look forward to showcasing the new Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge to the tourism industry,” said Graeme Edmond, Founder of Nightjar Collection.

Guests with existing bookings will be contacted directly by the Nightjar team once refurbishment schedules are confirmed.
