Sleep-out decks are also available for those who want to sleep under the stars, and there is a swimming pool, large indigenous garden and boules court. Anton says: “The lodge backs on to the wilderness portion of our 3 000-hectare farm so that guests can walk or mountain bike directly from the lodge.”

Cederberg Ridge will offer a range of activities, including guided walks, mountain biking, rock art excursions and water activities. The lodge is also close to the coast, where guests can enjoy activities on the beach or at nearby Bird Island.

Kate says: “The Cederberg is most famous for its stunning spring flowers, ancient rock art sites and scenic walking trails. So many people want to visit, but they are not clear how to enjoy the area. We want to show it off and share it with as many people as possible.  We therefore decided to offer selected excursions and activities on a ‘Full Board and Activity’ basis. We also offer a dinner, bed and breakfast option for independent visitors.”
