Tourism Update, our much-loved industry news site has been revamped with a new design and some new features.
Anton Marsh, Managing Director, Now Media and current Tourism Update Editor, says: “Tourism Update has seen strong growth as an industry platform over the last few years. Our Google Analytics show that we have grown from averaging 100 000 page views and 25 000 users a month in 2015, to averaging 140 000 page views and 35 000 users a month for 2017 year to date.”
The website has been redesigned to reduce clutter and improve the functional layout.
The site has improved search functionality throughout (which we intend to further develop), the jobs section has better functionality and accessibility, and we have added a new section called ‘Useful Info’, which allows users to access useful reference articles that have ongoing use.
You will notice tweaks across the website.
“We have been covering East Africa for the last year. We see the region as an important tourism region with a strong overlap in readership. We are now committing to it further by changing our name to include it. Our full title will now be Southern and East African Tourism Update,” says Marsh.
Tourism Update is looking to improve its local coverage across destinations and will be looking for local correspondents.
We would like to hear if you like the updates, if you have any suggestions for future upgrades or if you know of any local correspondents that you think we should contact. Email editor@tourismupdate.co.za
