NightsBridge acquires Semper

NightsBridge has acquired Semper, marking a change for two hospitality technology providers serving independent accommodation businesses across Southern Africa.

The transaction coincides with the retirement of Semper’s founders, Bernard Potgieter and Colleen Potgieter, who led the company for nearly two decades. Eben Marais has been appointed CEO of Semper.

Semper provides a property management system used by independent accommodation providers in the region while NightsBridge focuses on distribution and online bookings. The two companies have collaborated for about 18 years with NightsBridge recommending Semper to properties requiring enhanced property management or reporting capabilities while continuing to provide channel management and booking technology.

“This acquisition deepens that long-standing collaboration while preserving what clients value most from each brand: practical hospitality technology, local expertise and dedicated support,” said Theresa Emerick, NightsBridge MD.

“Both companies will maintain distinct brands and dedicated support and development teams, preserving the specialised service our customers value. The businesses will run independently and together we can invest more effectively in local innovation, integrations and training that benefit the wider tourism ecosystem.”

The transaction will not disrupt services for existing clients, tourism partners, DMOs, OTAs or other industry stakeholders. NightsBridge and Semper will continue to operate as separate companies with their own product roadmaps, support teams and offices.

Existing property management systems, channel management and booking engine configurations will remain unchanged and current collaboration initiatives between the two companies will continue.
