With deep sadness, City Sightseeing South Africa, marks the passing of Co-founder and Director, David Munton, yesterday (Wednesday, 22 January).
At 83, Munton was a familiar figure in the South African tourism industry and has contributed greatly to its development, according to colleagues.
Friends in the industry remember David as “always willing to assist fellow operators with permitting issues”, noting that his expertise in this field was willingly shared on many occasions.
Munton was born in York, England and later made Cape Town, South Africa his home. In 2002, along with Claus Tworeck, he co-founded City Sightseeing which offers open-topped bus tours in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
