Ongava Game Reserve, on the southern edge of Namibia’s Etosha National Park, has reopened its former Ongava Tented Camp under a new name, Encounter by Ongava.
Encounter by Ongava comprises nine tents set within a secluded valley at the foot of a dolomite hill. Wildlife moves freely through the area, with animals passing through the camp and tracks often visible each morning.
The camp retains its classic safari format, with open-air showers and private decks overlooking the surrounding bush.
Ongava said the rebrand forms part of its long-term conservation-led approach, positioning each property within its portfolio with a distinct role and experience while maintaining its focus on protection and ecological stewardship.
