The seventh edition of the OurAfrica.Travel digital trade show returns from March 16 – 20 and once again invites exhibitors to nominate a cause in the community or conservation categories.
This year, OurAfrica.Travel has partnered with Africa’s Eden to assist with the shortlisting and vetting process, ensuring greater transparency and a focus on documented, measurable impact on the ground.
To qualify for nomination, organisations must:
- Be locally led
- Be legally registered as a nonprofit organisation (NPO)
- Provide a copy of their annual report
- Demonstrate at least two non-cash ways a tourism business can support them, such as conservation training or infrastructure development.
All qualifying charities can be nominated via the website.
Selected causes will have the opportunity to showcase their impact on a global stage, and stand a chance to win cash donations worth R20 000 (US$1 200).
To date, OurAfrica.Travel has donated a total of R100 000 (US$6 200) to various causes including ForRangers, Mukambi Community School in Zambia, How Many Elephants’ World Female Ranger Week, Foxes’ Community and Wildlife Conservation Trust, Parco and the Chigamane School in Mozambique.
