Hemingways Collection welcomes new Head of Sales
Hemingways Collection has appointed Lina Nel as Director of Sales. She joins the company with over a decade of experience as Sales Director for Newmark Hotels and Head of Sales and Marketing for Marasa Africa Lodges.
Her career spans leisure, corporate and MICE segments with focus on driving sales, developing marketing strategy and building long-term trade partnerships. She will work closely with the sales team in East Africa while based in South Africa.
GaTOA appoints Executive Chairman
Gauteng Tour Operators Association (GaTOA) has appointed Victor Sibeki as Executive Chairman. Prior to his appointment, he served as Deputy Chairman while also serving as a strategic management advisor and heading the association’s public relations and marketing communication portfolio. He later assumed the role of Interim Chairman.
He is the Founder and Group Executive of Buhle Bethu Group of Companies, a public relations organisation that specialises in communication and strategic events management in the MICE industry. He brings decades of experience in business administration, strategic management, governance, public relations and marketing communication.
Franschhoek Wine Valley appoints new Chairperson
Franschhoek Wine Valley has appointed Suzanne Bayly as Chairperson. She is the Owner and Managing Director of Classic Portfolio, a travel marketing and representation company in Africa, and has over two decades of experience in the industry.
“Her leadership is grounded in collaboration and authenticity with a clear vision for a future where tourism benefits people and place. We look forward to working closely with her as she helps shape the next phase of growth for the region,” says Ruth McCourt, CEO of Franschhoek Wine Valley.
She is taking over from outgoing Chairperson Hein Koegelenberg who will remain on the Board as a Director.
AWTE announces new Board members
The Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) has announced new Board appointments. Debbie O’Neill, Managing Director of Jules Verne, becomes Chair while Elena Ktori, Founder of Antelle Recruitment, joins as Vice-Chair.
The appointments were confirmed at the AGM alongside the 2026/27 Board. Notable additions include Kgomotso Ramothea, CEO of ATTA, as Membership Director, and Lee Ainsworth, Head of Business Development at Advantage Travel Partnership, as Male Ambassador.
