Last week we asked whether the proposed September 2020 reopening of tourism to South Africa was viable and realistic.

The results were as follows:

  • Yes, we’ve already received queries and bookings for the latter half of the year.

  • Possibly, if government is prepared to relook at its COVID-19 risk-adjusted strategy to allow more of the sector to operate.

  • No. Domestic tourism hasn’t opened yet.
