Premier Hotels & Resorts will expand its footprint in South Africa, with the construction of a new 3+-star hotel in Bloemfontein.
The property falls within the Splendid Inn by Premier brand, one of four sub-brands that fall under Premier Hotels & Resorts. With Samuel Nassimov, hotel chain’s Founder and Managing Director, saying that the new property is part of the Group’s larger expansion plans. He added: “This will see the proliferation of another three Premier Hotels, five Splendid Inns by Premier and seven Express Inns by Premier across the country.”
The Splendid Inn Bloemfontein is currently in the first phase of construction which is set for completion in September, and includes refurbishing the existing Stanville Hotel. Phase two will see the completion of an additional 45 bedrooms and the new conference facilities.
Upon completion the hotel will comprise a total of 88 bedrooms, a restaurant, rooftop function area, lounge, business centre, and conference facilities that can host up to 150 delegates.
The new hotel is close to government departments, sports stadiums, and is minutes away from the Bram Fischer International Airport and the University of the Free State.
Nassimov continued: “It [Bloemfontein] is the halfway mark between most of the country’s major cities, and it is where five major national highways intersect. Our aim is to have a property in every major South African city, as well as in all secondary cities, which is why we have invested R90 million in building a hotel in Bloemfontein.”
