Management of OR Tambo International Airport have advised Johannesburg travellers of possible delays in reaching the airport today, April 25, due to a national strike.
Unions will take to the streets to protest the national minimum wage and amendments to the labour law. The South African Federation of Trade Unions and affiliates called for the strike.
The airport is expecting minimal disruptions to its own operations and all SAA’s flights are operating as per published schedules with no disruptions or delays associated with the strike action.
“We are keeping an eye on the situation and are liaising with our partners and other stakeholders. The relevant departments are on standby mode to respond in case there are disruptions or delays. We will provide traveller alerts in case the situation changes,” SAA Spokesperson, Tlali Tlali, told Tourism Update.
