Taj Cape Town reveals room refurb

Taj Cape Town is rolling out a full refresh of its rooms and suites.

The revitalisation includes the Heritage Rooms, 40 Tower Rooms and the Taj Club Suites – all to be completed this month. Finalising the hotel’s transformation, the remaining 50 rooms will be updated in early 2026.

The redesign features a lighter aesthetic, combining Taj’s signature Indian-inspired colour palette with design elements celebrating Cape Town’s natural beauty. Wallpapers featuring Cape fynbos motifs, complemented by soft furnishings and scatter cushions, connect the hotel’s interiors to its surroundings and views of Table Mountain. Materials such as plush velvets, luxe leathers and woven fabrics have been layered throughout.

“We are very proud of how all of these elements have come together,” says Mark Wernich, Taj Cape Town Cluster General Manager. “Our exciting new look is in keeping with our award-winning international hotel brand and completes our hotel’s revitalisation. While it is contemporary and up to date, it also honours where we have come from.”
