Tourplan, ResRequest tackle competitiveness in online space

Tourplan's connection to ResRequest stock introduces a more automated and efficient way of doing business.

Tourplan operators are now able to connect directly to ResRequest stock.

A software application is the first part of the solution for competing in an increasingly online and automated space, says Natasha Bame from ResRequest. “The second part is electronic access to your system – to view rates and availability and even make bookings – so they can prepare quotes and book directly from their solution.”

Tourplan's connection introduces a more automated and efficient way of doing business and gives agents the ability to work faster and easily promote and sell properties, says Bame. Many specialist agents have also developed direct connections to ResRequest through ResConnect.

Once an agent has developed a connection between their booking system and ResRequest, they request permission to access ResRequest properties. ResRequest will set up their user account and the property will define what the agent is able to see and do. When an agent is allowed to create bookings, the property will receive notifications and these bookings need to be assigned to a consultant for review. Amendments or cancellations requested through the system will send an email to the supplier.
