Western Cape gets new skydiving drop zone

Mother City SkyDiving has officially launched a new drop zone in the Western Cape, 12km north of Malmesbury.

Mike Rumble from Mother City SkyDiving told Tourism Update: “Our objective is to raise the profile of skydiving in the Western Cape and to eventually offer some of the highest civilian skydiving in Africa.

“From a tourism perspective, South Africa has built an excellent reputation as a destination to make a tandem skydive. The numbers grow year on year.”

Pick-up and drop-off services can be arranged with the company’s transportation partner from Cape Town CBD, the V&A Waterfront, Stellenbosch and Paarl.

To book the experience, tour operators and travel agents must register as an agent via the Mother City SkyDiving website. Operations are structured around atmospheric conditions, operational capabilities and bookings, which can normally be determined three days prior to the booking date.
