A video shared by Wilderness shows sub-adult lions engaging in a training-stage hunt at Wilderness Usawa Serengeti. While the attempt may appear unsuccessful, this behaviour is a key developmental phase for young predators.
Unlike adult lions that deploy strategic tactics, such as flanking, using cover and controlling movement, young lions rely on instinct and reactive teamwork. In the footage, the group walks away without a kill but each failed hunt builds towards eventual success.
