Kwetsani Camp in Botswana’s Jao Reserve in the Okavango Delta is officially open and welcoming guests after months of rebuilding.
The property is located on a palm island within a riverine forest overlooking a floodplain. It includes five suites and a large family suite comprising two en-suite bedrooms. The design of the camp, led by Tiffany Riley, daughter of owners and operators Cathy and David Kays, blends a rich colour palette with hand-crafted and natural elements.
“Reimagining this special camp was never simply about rebuilding it. It was about preserving its spirit while creating a place that future generations can experience and cherish. Bringing this vision to life was an extraordinary journey. Seasonal floods, complex logistics and months of determination tested us every step of the way, but they also made seeing Kwetsani emerge from the trees all the more rewarding,” said the Kays family.
