Ongoing military action and airspace closures in parts of the Middle East have resulted in flight cancellations and uncertainty for some travellers – and Africa has not been immune.
In response to our latest poll, nearly three quarters of Tourism Update readers (74%) said their clients have expressed concerns about international travel due to the current situation. Only 15% said their clients were unfazed while 11% were unsure.
Obstacles to geographic spread
South Africa’s tourism industry has long viewed geographic spread as a key opportunity to increase the value of international arrivals, encouraging visitors to explore multiple provinces during their trips. However, new data from SA Tourism shows that most travellers still visit only one province.
