Exclusive use villa opens in Kenyan conservancy

Luxury lodge and villa collective Collection in the Wild has opened its innovative new exclusive-use villa, Wild Hill, on the edge of the Enonkishu Conservancy in the northern Maasai Mara ecosystem.

Situated on Kileleoni Hill – the highest point in the Maasai Mara – Wild Hill features unique architectural design elements such as livinggrass roofs and an entrance tunnel accessed through an ancient door. Built over a period of 18 months, much of the lodge was constructed using upcycled material, including fence posts taken from the newly-rewilded Mbokishu Conservancy neighbouring Enonkishu. The villa is 100% solar-powered.

The villa features five rooms with decks offering expansive views over the Mara plains. Each room has a large living area, a coffee station, a bathtub, and indoor and outdoor showers.

Wellness has been given particular priority, with the Wild Wellness Spa featuring a sauna, cold plunge, treatment room and wood-fired hot tub. Holistic wellness advocate and integrative health practitioner Solveig Gevers leads a team of wellness therapists who have all completed an intensive training course in aromatherapy, deep tissue massage and other wellness practices.

The property has two fully-stocked bars and a fire pit built into the main deck, with additional facilities including a wine cellar, infinity pool, home cinema, billiards room and a multifunctional sports court.

In addition to private game drives, activities include e-biking and walks with traditional elders to view rock art and forage medicinal herbs.

Culinary offerings are authentic and sustainably sourced, with options for family-style sharing, tapas, interactive live cooking on hot coals in the outdoor boma area, or formal five-course tasting menus.
