Iketla Lodge, a four-star property in Ohrigstad, Limpopo, has been certified by Fair Trade Tourism.
“We have always believed in operating sustainably by minimising our impact on the environment and treating our employees with respect and fairness,” says Silke Matthia, Owner of Iketla Lodge. “We are very proud to have achieved Fair Trade Tourism certification.”
The lodge can accommodate 16 people and is situated on a 540 hectare private nature reserve 30 minutes from Blyde River Canyon. The reserve is home to over 200 different bird species.
Iketla Lodge is owner-run, and was built to minimise its impact on the natural environment. Five of the eight chalets are on the edge of a rise, and all chalets have an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers.
