Ilios Travel appoints new Client Relationship Manager

Lauren Barnard has been appointed Ilios Travel’s new Client Relationship Manager. Having worked at the Singita lodges in Kruger and Sabi Sand, the Collection by Liz McGrath and Radisson Blu, Barnard has a strong grounding in the travel and tourism industry.

She says: “Ilios Travel will continue to expand its footprint across Southern Africa. To be a part of this growth and journey that Ilios CEO, Mohamed Baba, envisions is truly exciting and a huge motivation to thrive within the South African tourism sector.”

De Villiers Heymans has been appointed General Manager of Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! By Marriott Menlyn. He takes the reins at just 28, having joined Protea Hotels by Marriott 10 years ago. 

Heymans first entered the industry in Clarens, subsequently moving to Gauteng where he gained extensive experience in the food and beverage side of the hospitality industry.  Most recently he held the post of Deputy GM of the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! by Marriott Melrose Arch, for almost three years.

Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club in Kenya has appointed former Starwood Executive, Vijay Krishnan, as its new General Manager.  

Krishnan has 22 years’ experience in the hospitality industry and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from the Mangalore University in India. He also undertook professional training in management development programmes from Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration, USA and Ecole Hôtelière De Lausanne, Switzerland. 

“Vijay Krishnan’s extensive experience in the luxury hotel industry makes him a great fit for this role,” said Windsor Golf Hotel Executive Director, Francis Murai Michuki.

Servest Catering has appointed Preshanthan Pillay as General Manager. He joined Servest SA in 2016, heading the kitchen for one of its clients, and soon after was named Servest’s National Executive Chef.
