Latitude signs Tanzania resort

Latitude Hotel Group has partnered with Sanaabiz Investments Limited to develop and manage its first property in Tanzania.

The planned 80-room resort will be located in the Kigamboni district and peninsula of Dar es Salaam. The area is south-east of the city and includes attractions such as South Beach, mangrove forests and the Nyerere Bridge.

The development will include standard rooms and two-bedroom apartments, conference facilities, cafés and restaurants, a spa, picnic areas, camp sites, retail space and a visitor and information centre. Plans also include an outdoor performance space accommodating up to 5 000 people.

The group currently operates hotels in Kampala, Lusaka and Lilongwe.

According to the group, the project will follow the Latitude brand and operating model established in Uganda, Zambia and Malawi.

Executive Chairman Nick Brown said: “We have waited for a long time to locate the right property in Tanzania and the Kigamboni project ticks all the boxes for a Latitude-designed resort.”

Preliminary work on the development is expected to begin in 2026 with the resort scheduled to open in 2028.
