&Beyond is giving its Mozambican island retreat, &Beyond Benguerra Island, a new look. The lodge is undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment that includes new interior design and it will reopen on June 1.
Guest rooms will be reconfigured to ensure that the beds now have views of the beach. The newly decorated welcoming area will also open on to a view of the beach.
The Dhow Bar will be restyled to function as an area where guests can now enjoy meals on the beach throughout the day with the lodge’s refurbished rim-flow swimming pool nearby.
Both the lodge’s casinhas and cabanas will be revamped. All bedrooms will have brand-new furniture such as mosquito net canopies and overhead fans as well as air-conditioning.
The lodge’s boats, including its double full catamaran, the Stiletto, are also being refurbished and will be available for half- or full-day cruises. Some of the new facilities include game fishing opportunities, an expanded dive centre, a new inflatable boat, additional showers and a new vehicle for scenic drives.
