South Africa’s November tourism outlook was positive with monthly performance showing an upward trend of recovery. Numbers reached 30% of November 2019 levels, showing an outperformance of the 14% traveller numbers achieved for the year-to-date.
The United States led the recovery with numbers at 39% of 2019 levels for November. Other countries that have achieved above-average recovery include Switzerland, Germany, The Netherlands, and India. China numbers show little recovery, a story common to Far East markets. Laggard markets include Australia, Brazil, Sweden, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
