Kapama Private Game Reserve appoints Head of Brand

Andrew Camp has been appointed Head of Brand at Kapama Private Game Reserve, effective February 2.

He brings 30 years of sales and marketing experience across retail, IT solutions, pharmaceuticals, executive headhunting and tourism. He joined Thompsons Africa in 2011 as International Sales Manager before moving to Sun International in 2018 as Head of International Sales. In January 2025, he was appointed Head of Sales covering international, national, sports and events as well as sales administration.

This February, he joined Kapama to lead a brand refinement transformation across employee engagement, website, public relations, digital marketing and guest touchpoints.

Camp will work with Kapama’s Head of Sales and An African Anthology, Kapama’s global sales and marketing representation arm, to strengthen brand positioning.

His responsibilities include leading brand strategy, website and digital elevation, public relations and media presence, guest experience alignment, creative direction, marketing agency management and market insight.

Magome brings experience across Africa’s luxury spa sector, including senior roles at Singita in Zimbabwe and Tanzania, and as Founder and Director of the Mandala Wellness Group.

In her role, Magome will lead the spa’s vision, standards and guest experience, aligning the offering with Four Seasons’ global approach to wellness.

Malawi names new tourism Minister

Simon Itaye has been appointed Minister of Industrialisation, Business, Trade and Tourism in Malawi, replacing George Partridge who becomes Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi.

The reshuffle is aimed at supporting Malawi’s economic transformation agenda with tourism central to boosting investment, trade and job creation.

Itaye is a private-sector executive who has been MD and CEO of Packaging Industries (Nampak Malawi) and Chair of Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (Malawi) and Press Corporation. He holds a BCom from the University of Malawi, is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has an MBA from the University of West London.
