People on the Move: New CEO for Seasons in Africa

Clive Battell was appointed CEO of Seasons in Africa last month. Battell joined Seasons in Africa in 1998 when he and his wife, Liesel, opened Knysna Hollow Country Estate. Battell took on the additional role of Brand Manager for the six Hollow Hotels in 2013. “His appointment to the position of CEO of Seasons in Africa is an organic move that will further cement the unique and personal ethos of the Seasons in Africa brand,” said Sales and Marketing, Marielize Brotherton,

Liesel Battell has been appointed General Manager and will take on additional responsibilities at Knysna Hollow and assume control of day-to-day operations at the hotel.

Angelique Claassen has been appointed manager of Distribution and IT Systems for fastjet’s core markets across Africa. She will be based at fastjet’s headquarters in Johannesburg and will also manage channel distribution for fastjet’s key markets of Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa. Claassen was previously the channel manager of SAA subsidiary, Mango.

“We are confident that Angelique’s appointment will support the growth of fastjet across key African markets, and strengthen our ability to deliver an efficient and pleasurable customer experience,” says Nico Bezuidenhout, CEO of fastjet.

Mareike Pietzsch has joined Giltedge Travel as a Digital Marketing & Communications Specialist. Pietzsch was previously Content Developer at Jenman African Safaris and has a BA in Media Studies at the University of Cape Town, and studied Journalism at Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
