Wesgro has appointed Monika Iuel Chief Marketing Officer from March 15.
Iuel has years of experience at boutique DMCs, Tourvest Destination Management, SA Tourism and, most recently, Private Safaris, where she has been CEO for four years.
“She will advance Wesgro’s work promoting Cape Town and the Western Cape as a world-class leisure and business tourism destination and a leading business hub for Africa,” said Wesgro CEO, Tim Harris.
Private Safaris appoints new MD
Private Safaris has announced Virginia Barnard as its new MD Southern Africa, effective March 6, following the stepping down of Monika Iuel as CEO.
Barnard has worked at Private Safaris for 11 years, and previously held the position of Reservations Director for the South African operations.
“Private Safaris is in safe hands and I am confident that, together with the support of our committed shareholders, she [Barnard] will lead the business with a steady hand through the remainder of the recovery period and beyond,” said Iuel.
