Plettenberg Bay Tourism has decided to move next year’s Plett Wine and Bubbly Festival to the Easter holidays.
This decision was taken after consultation with the Plettenberg Bay wine industry, and forms part of the greater Plett tourism strategy, which includes:
- Increasing awareness of Plett out of season
- Increasing exposure to an international audience (with the Easter period traditionally being recognised as ‘Swallows’ season)
- Complementing an existing outdoor and sporting events platform with a leisure festival
- Complementing the wine industry and harvest season
The weekend-long festival is dedicated to Méthode Cap Classique and other boutique wines, where both local and international visitors can experience more than 30 different wines from local producers in Plett. Food, wine and entertainment will add to the experience, driving the destination as one of choice for tourists visiting South Africa.
