Seychelles Tourism revamps e-marketing department

The Seychelles Tourism Board has announced a revamp of its e-marketing department. CEO, Alain St Ange, confirmed that the department would be beefed up to be more in line with expectations of 2011.

According to a statement by the Seychelles Tourism Board, the development of new innovative programmes over the last two years was a success and has helped to consolidate Seychelles in the tourism industry.

As part of the new e-marketing vision, Seychelles is moving toward marketing itself as an events-based destination, which now includes the annual ‘Carnival of Carnivals’ that takes place in Victoria during the first weekend of March, and SUBIOS, the Seychelles Festival of the Sea, that takes place during the first week of November at Beau Vallon Beach on the island of Mahé.

Seychelles is now moving to place a bigger emphasis on its e-marketing through its monthly e-newsletter as well as regular upgrades to the website.

A full-time news bureau has also been introduced to feed information to overseas press. St Ange said the tourism board was now up to date, ensuring that anyone in the world could be fully updated on Seychelles at any time.
