Spectacular visual show lights up Vic Falls

The mist over the Victoria Falls was lit up with entrancing visual animations on July 31 as part of an ambitious project to create one of the world’s largest ever projections on a natural water canvas.

ROARR: A Victoria Falls Live Project, created visual animations over an area of 6 500 square metres above the falls, spotlighting cultural and natural attractions. The project – first launched in 2024 – simultaneously raises funds and awareness for conservation and community development.

Speaking at the event, Zambia’s Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba commended the ROARR team, led by Immersive International and Agusta Productions, for introducing an innovative concept that merges nature, art, technology and storytelling to showcase one of Zambia’s most iconic natural wonders.

“ROARR is a bold statement that Zambia is ready to lead the way in transformative, sustainable tourism. Through this initiative, we are not only attracting international attention but also ensuring that our local communities benefit through job creation, capacity building and economic inclusion,” said Sikumba.

“ROARR will enhance our country’s positioning as a leading destination in Southern Africa. This project is a game changer in how we market our heritage sites, and engage with local and international audiences,” said Zambia Tourism Agency CEO Matongo Matamwandi.
