Table Mountain Cableway updates for tour operators

Table Mountain Cableway increases rates, adds designated parking for tour operators and closes for maintenance.

Table Mountain Cableway in the Western Cape will close temporarily for annual maintenance. It will also implement a rates increase and provide designated parking areas for tour operators.

The Cableway will close from July 23 until August 5, and rates will increase on October 1 for the 2018/2019 period, and will be valid until September 30, 2019.

Cableway tour operator ticketing portal 2018/2019 rates are as follows:

Morning peak (08h00-13h00)

  • Adult return: R310 (€19.25)
  • Child return: R155 (€9.64)

Afternoon (13h00 onwards)

  • Adult return: R270 (€16.82)
  • Child return: R165 (€10.28)

Ticket office and public online ticket rates for 2018/2019 are as follows:

Morning peak (08h00-13h00)

  • Adult return: R330 (€20.54)
  • Child return: R165 (€10.28)

Afternoon (13h00 onwards)

  • Adult return: R290 (€18)
  • Child return: R145 (€9)

Tour operators can look forward to designated parking for minivans and sedans, just before the small circle at the cableway. Space is limited and only permit holders are allowed to park in this area. Tour operators must ensure their permit is visible.

Dropping off guests in front of the Visitor Centre at the Lower Station creates congestion and poses a safety risk for visitor. Table Mountain Cableway requests that operators desist from doing this.
