Zimbabwe-owned Africa Albida Tourism (AAT) has reintroduced 31 Lokuthula lodges into hotel stock, after they were released from timeshare, adding budget-friendly accommodation on the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Estate.
The lodges are undergoing an upgrade that includes installation of air-conditioning and new queen-size beds in the main bedrooms, as well as soft refurbishments in the living areas.
“The pricing for the lodges positions them at the entry-level three-star market, and taking into account the current refurbishment, the lodges offer real value for money,” says AAT CEO, Ross Kennedy. “In recognising the growth of competition in Victoria Falls, it was decided to become more aggressive in the marketing of Lokuthula Lodges as additional timeshare stock comes back into our control as the developers and operators of the lodges. Lokuthula is the perfect fit for the growing demand of well-priced accommodation, as more price-conscious markets start to use Victoria Falls as a destination.”
The lodges are ideal for the self-drive market, destination weddings, school and church groups, as well as families.
“The impact of the upgrade is already being felt, with operators booking international tour series into Lokuthula Lodges for the first time ever,” concludes Kennedy.
