South African National Parks (SANParks) has issued a reminder to all Day Visitors to KNP that daily quotas will once again apply at the entrance gates over the Easter weekend, starting on Thursday (March 29), until Monday (April 2).
Visitors are urged to make pre-bookings for their visits prior to arrival, with three time slots to choose from.
The following time slots apply from March 29 to 31:
- Time slot one: 05h30 to 07h30.
- Time slot two: 07h30 to 09h30.
- Time slot three: 09h30 onwards.
The following time slots apply from April 1 onwards:
- Time slot one: 06h00 to 08h00.
- Time slot two: 08h00 to 10h00.
- Time slot three: 10h00 onwards.
“The three different time slots aim to improve the spread of vehicles and, as far as possible, prevent unnecessary waiting periods at gates,” said KNP GM: Communications and Marketing, William Mabasa.
Pre-booked day visitors will get preference over non-booked day visitors at the gate, but must ensure that they arrive within their booked time slots. Arriving outside the booked time slot will be regarded as non-booked and therefore will not receive preference and could be turned away. These bookings can be changed through SANParks’ reservations offices if need be.
