Angola targets German travel trade

Angola is seeking to strengthen its presence in the German tourism market following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the German Travel Association (DRV) and Angola’s Institute for Tourism Promotion (INFOTUR).

The agreement, signed at the DRV Capital Congress in Berlin, outlines two initiatives planned for 2027:

  • A visit to Angola by senior German tour operator representatives
  • The DRV Destination Forum for travel distribution professionals

The delegation visit will focus on opportunities to develop and market tourism products. The forum will seek to raise awareness of Angola among German travel professionals.

DRV President Albin Loidl said Angola remains relatively unknown in the German travel market despite its tourism potential. He emphasised the importance of developing bookable tourism products and equipping travel agents to confidently recommend the destination.

The organisations also plan to exchange market insights and collaborate in tourism product development and marketing.
