Hideaways adds Greater Kruger lodge to portfolio

Hideaways Africa has expanded its footprint into South Africa’s Greater Kruger region with the addition of Amava River Lodge, previously known as Bundox River Lodge.

The lodge is located in the northern sector of Balule Private Game Reserve, adjacent to the Olifants River.

This marks Hideaways’ first property in Greater Kruger and forms part of its wider Southern African portfolio, which includes destinations in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

“Expanding into the Kruger region is a significant step for us as a brand,” said Sulet Burger-Prinsloo, Head of Hideaways Africa. “It not only gives our guests access to one of Africa’s most legendary wildlife areas but also strengthens our ability to offer multi-country, seamless safari experiences that reflect our ethos of soulful, sustainable travel.”

Amava River Lodge comprises five tented units and is designed for small groups, couples and independent travellers. The lodge is approximately 45 minutes’ drive from Eastgate Airport outside Hoedspruit, and offers a mix of safari activities including game drives, walking safaris and a boat cruise on the Olifants River.

Guests can also visit a nearby conservation camp to learn about regional wildlife protection programmes.
