Blue Zebra Island Lodge, located on Nankoma Island in Lake Malawi, has introduced a new family chalet and completed major upgrades to the boats used for cruises and transfers on the lake. Further upgrades and refurbishments are planned for February 2026.
Named “Weaver”, the new executive family chalet sleeps up to four adults in two bedrooms and a sofa bed is available in the lounge for children under the age of 12. The chalet has a private plunge pool overlooking the lake.
The 8.2 m-long Blue Zebra rigid inflatable boat (RIB) has been fitted with two new engines and a pontoon. The smaller six-seater RIB has also received an engine upgrade.
The lodge features 13 rooms, ranging from safari-style tents to chalets and a superior family cottage.
Activities on offer on Nankoma include nature walks through indigenous forest, kayaking and snorkelling, yoga and treatments at the Island Spa.
