Lanzerac Hotel & Spa reopens following devastating fire

Following last year’s fire, Lanzerac Hotel & Spa will reopen its doors on July 1.

Following a fire that broke out last year, which caused extensive damage, Lanzerac Hotel & Spa, in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, will reopen on July 1. 

The five-star hotel comprises 53 en-suite bedrooms and suites. Most rooms have their own patio, which open on to the gardens, overlooking the backdrop of surrounding mountains and vineyards.

Rooms are categorised into Classic Rooms, Luxury Rooms, Junior Suites, and Suites.

Standard features include underfloor heating, heated towel racks, air-conditioning, DStv, Nespresso coffee machines and more.

Complimentary services include a full continental buffet and hot breakfast on order, tea and coffee, a mini-bar that is replenished once daily, use of the Spa’s hydro facilities, wine tasting of five Lanzerac Estate wines at the Lanzerac Tasting Room, a cellar tour of the Lanzerac Winery daily at 11h00, complimentary transfer between the hotel and Stellenbosch at set times, a daily turn-down service that includes bottled water, WiFi and the Stellenbosch tourism levy.

As part of a large-scale refurbishment, the Lanzerac Spa has been completely rebuilt.

The newly designed building overlooks the Jonkershoek Mountains and is nestled against rows of vineyards, offering a variety of amenities.

The Spa comprises seven therapy rooms, including a couple’s room and a disabled room, as well as four mini manicure and pedicure treatment stations, two relaxation areas, two Rasul chambers complete with sensation showers, an indoor heated swimming pool, and sauna and steam rooms.

The treatment rooms have been fitted with large windows, allowing for natural light. There is also a Jacuzzi, a fully equipped fitness room with the option of a personal trainer for guests and a Vitality Corner that serves healthy cuisine.

Lanzerac Wine Estate, steeped in history, dates back to 1692.
