Lion’s Head track closes for maintenance

SANParks has announced the temporary closure of the Jeep Track at Lion’s Head from April 20 to June 20 to allow for maintenance work.

The track will be inaccessible to the public during this period, subject to project timelines and weather conditions.

Hikers will still be able to access the Lion’s Head summit via alternative routes, including the Kramat trail on Signal Hill Road, the Upper Rhine Road trail and the trail from Kloof Road. The Lion’s Head parking area will remain open for those using the Kramat route.

The maintenance project is aiming to improve trail safety and the overall visitor experience. SANParks has urged the public to follow all posted signage and safety instructions during the closure.
