BlackBrick Gardens names F&B partner
BlackBrick Gardens has partnered with Chef and Food Consultant Diego Silva, Founder of Bonfire Experience, as F&B partner for its Cape Town flagship opening in October 2025.

Silva, whose international experience includes Noma (Copenhagen), La Granja Farmhouse (Ibiza) and Tulum Treehouse (Mexico), will oversee culinary development at the property. This includes two dining concepts: ATRAS and ARRIBA.
BlackBrick Co-Founder and CEO Jonathan Liebmann said: “Diego brings the kind of credentials that speak directly to what we’re building at BlackBrick, from soil to service, supporting local to expanding globally.”
Protea Hotel by Marriott Midrand appoints new GM
Protea Hotel by Marriott Midrand has appointed Bosele Mogamisi as GM.

Mogamisi studied hospitality management at the University of Johannesburg and completed part of her training through the American Hospitality Academy in the US. She previously led the reopening of Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! by Marriott Melrose Arch and served as Cluster Hotel Manager for that property and African Pride Melrose Arch, Autograph Collection.
She has also completed management programmes with Stellenbosch University and Cornell University.
MTPA appoints Acting CEO
Lemmy Mdluli has been appointed as Acting CEO of the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA).

Mdluli was previously Chief Director: Integrated Economic Development in the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
Millat Group joins WTTC Executive Committee
Millat Group has become the first South African private equity company to join the Executive Committee of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).

“For the first time, our country has a direct voice on the WTTC Executive Committee,” said Hamza Farooqui, Founder of Millat Group. “We see this not only as recognition of Millat’s journey but as an opportunity to fly the South African and African flag high.”
