People on the move: Safarilink appoints new Non-Executive Chairman

Mbuvi Ngunze, former Chief Executive of Kenya Airways, has been appointed Non-Executive Chairman of Safarilink in Kenya.

Former Kenya Airways Chief Executive, Mbuvi Ngunze, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Chairman for the local Kenyan airline, Safarilink Aviation.

His appointment follows an ownership change at Safarilink as ALS Limited, one of the shareholders of the firm, sold to Bridges Limited, a Ramco Group affiliate, as well as an existing shareholder.

Captain Aslam Khan of ALS relinquished his position of Chairman as a result of the private transaction, soon after Safarilink’s owners decided on Ngunze to head the airline’s board.

Managing Director, John Buckley said: “His (Ngunze) professional background and experience will provide strong leadership, support and guidance in ensuring appropriate checks and balances within Safarilink, whilst gearing up for expansion.”

FCM Travel Solutions has appointed Samuel Herman as its new Team Leader for FCM Events.

He will be responsible for uplifting the brand and profile of FCM Events, as well as upskilling the FCM Events team.

Herman has more than 14 years of experience in the industry.

Gavin Ferreira has been appointed GM of Luxury De Hoek Country Hotel in Magaliesburg, Gauteng.

Ferreira is a long-standing luxury hotelier with comprehensive managerial skills and a significant amount of experience in providing customer service, both in South Africa and the UK.
