Rare Earth Retreats acquires top Cape property

The guesthouse is located high on the slopes of Lion’s Head

Cape View Clifton will join Rare Earth Retreats’ portfolio on May 1. The acquisition sees the portfolio grow to seven exclusive properties in South Africa, and the brand’s first step into Cape Town.

The guesthouse is located high on the slopes of Lion’s Head and offers a balance between privacy and access to Cape Town’s top restaurants, sights and beaches.

There are three deluxe suites, two junior suites, a three-bedroom family suite and a two-bedroom suite, all sea-facing with private balconies. Facilities include a large pool deck with loungers, dining area and private gymnasium.

Shareholder Thys van Heerden, commented on the move into Cape Town. “As one of the world’s most desirable locations, Cape Town was an obvious choice for us to look to, to grow our property and hospitality offering.”

Chick Legh, also a shareholder, added: “Cape View Clifton adds a wonderful dynamic to the beach portfolio. We are thrilled to have this new property as a part of the family. We take the reins from long-time friend, Jess Latimer, the original owner and creative force who built the luxury guest house as well as its reputation.”
