Sabi Sabi enters Cape Town with boutique hotel

The Sabi Sabi Collection has announced its expansion into Cape Town with the opening of The Claremont Boutique Hotel in September 2025. This marks the family-owned safari group’s first move beyond its Greater Kruger lodges.

Located in the suburb of Claremont, the 15-room property is set within a restored 1920s manor house and will operate under the Sabi Sabi banner. The interiors are being redeveloped in collaboration with Dakota Design.

Accommodation will include classic and deluxe rooms as well as the Sauer Suite, which features a private pool and separate entrance. Rooms are positioned across the main house and landscaped gardens.

Facilities will include a bistro (Veld & Vine), a wine-focused bar (1928 Craft Bar), a spa, café, garden conservatory and safari lounge.

Jacques Smit, Marketing Director at Sabi Sabi Collection, said: “Bringing The Claremont Boutique Hotel under the Sabi Sabi Collection banner is an incredibly proud moment for our Sabi Sabi family. For over four decades we have welcomed guests to experience the magic of the African bush with us. Now we are thrilled to offer that same sense of warmth and wonder in the heart of Cape Town.”

The Claremont will be followed by the opening of Sandringham Private Game Reserve in Limpopo (scheduled for 2026).
