SANParks achieves record revenue

SANParks has reported record revenue of R4.1 billion (US$236.4 million) for the 2024/25 financial year –the first time the organisation has surpassed the R4 billion mark.

Addressing the Portfolio Committee on Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, SANParks CEO Hapiloe Sello confirmed an 11% increase in revenue from R3.67 billion (US$211.6 million) in 2023/24 with 75% generated from commercial activities reflecting the success of the organisation’s business strategies.

SANParks reported a net cash balance of R2.7 billion (US$155.7 million) and remains in a positive solvency position with total assets exceeding total liabilities by R3.7 billion (US$213.3 million). Sello said these results demonstrate “strong financial health, underpinned by solid revenue growth, healthy liquidity and a resilient balance sheet”.

The organisation also received an unqualified audit opinion. The Auditor-General’s report noted significant improvements in annual financial statement quality and supply chain management with no material findings identified.

Operationally, SANParks met 86% of its performance targets, achieving 24 out of 28 goals with 18 exceeded.
