River Place in Gauteng has joined Southern Spoor Marketing’s portfolio of owner-run hotels and lodges. River Place spans over 18 hectares of scenic mountain valley bushland just north of Fourways, and caters for getaways, culinary experiences, events and conferences.

It is home to the Al Fiume Italian restaurant, as well as the Serendipity Café Restaurant and Deck. The lawns are available for picnics, while the Rock Boma offers alfresco fireside dining.

The River View lapa-style venue and the Mountain View stone farmhouse are private function rooms that can be used for conferences or events for 60 or 120 guests respectively. Accommodation comprises 16 deluxe cottage-style rooms and three stone-clad suites.

Anita Foxcroft, Owner of Southern Spoor Marketing, says they are excited to be representing a product that offers guests a variety of experiences, including corporate conferencing and teambuilding. “It is one of the few establishments in Gauteng that takes full advantage of its position along the river, and is easily accessible from both Johannesburg and Pretoria. We look forward to working with Andrew and his team to re-establish River Place as one of Jo’burg’s premier dining, event and accommodation destinations.”

River Place Managing Partner, Andrew Banks, adds, “We are delighted to be included in the Southern Spoor portfolio and look forward to broadening our marketing reach through their team of industry professionals.”
